Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director-General Aaron Aquino fears that the number of personalities including judges, prosecutors, celebrities and politicians in PDEA’s watchlist will increase after their ongoing re-validation of the intelligence information the agency gathered.
Aquino, a retired PNP three-star general, told Bomb Radyo that they cannot announce yet as of press time the names of 13 judges, 31 celebrities and 10 prosecutors in their watchlist because the validation process is not completed.
According to the PDEA chief, included in their watchlist are more than 60,000 personalities while in the national watchlist, there about 500,000 names being validated.
Aquino added that most of the celebrities in their watchlist are using cocaine and people would not expect them to be drug addicts.
Meanwhile, he clarifies that the judges and prosecutors in their watchlist are not directly involved in the illegal drugs trade but receiving millions of pesos in pay-off for the dismissal of drug-related cases.
