Pormal nang pumasok sa isang alyansa ang Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) na pinamumunuan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr at National Unity Party (NUP) para sa Bagong Pilipinas.
Ayon kay Camarines Sur Rep. LRay Villafuerte pangulo ng NUP, ang PFP-NUP alliance ay sinelyohan kahapon sa isang event sa Manila Golf and Country Cub sa Makati City.
Sinabi ni Villafuerte na ang alyansa ay magbibigay ng oportunidad sa dalawang partido na magkasamang gumawa ng mga hakbang upang maisulong ang Bagong Pilipinas kung saan ang mga Pilipino ay mayroong mas maayos na buhay.
Ayon kay Villafuerte ang NUP, gaya ni Pangulong Marcos ay nagnanais ng maunlad at mapayapang Bagong Pilipinas kung saang walang Pilipinong maiiwan.
“We are thus proud to seal a formal alliance with the PFP as a splendid opportunity for both parties along with other like-minded groups to work together on advancing a new Philippines that promises a robust and inclusive growth and development for all Filipinos,” saad pa ni Villafuerte.
Nangako ang NUP na tutulong kay Pangulong Marcos at sa kanyang administrasyon, gaya ng ginawa nito sa nakalipas na dalawang taon, upang mapabilis ang pag-unlad ng bansa.
Sinaksihan naman ni Pangulong Marcos ang paglagda sa kasunduan nina Villafuerte; chairman at dating Interior and local government secretary Ronaldo Puno; at secretary-general Bataan Rep. Albert Garcia para sa NUP; South Cotabato Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., pangulo ng PFP; executive vice president at Special Assistant to the President Secretary Antonio Lagdameo Jr.; at vice chairman at House senior deputy majority leader Alexander Ferdinand Marcos III para sa panig ng PFP.
Dumalo rin sa event sina NUP vice chairmen Mandaluyong Rep. Neptali Gonzales II, Antipolo Rep. Romeo Acop at Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Trenas; at PFP secretary-general (retired) Gen. Thompson Lantion.
Sa kanyang speech, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos, “We are making a very important change in the thinking, in the politics of the Philippines,” because the alliance is based “not on political expediency but on ideology … And that is what we plan to do and we have come to the understanding and to the agreement that that can only be achieved if we have unity, if we all work together.”
Sabi naman ni Puno sa kanyang talumpati, “We reaffirm our commitment to putting the interest of the people above all else. This alliance is a testament to our collective dedication to serving the needs of every Filipino citizen. Together, we are stronger, the more resilient and better equipped to tackle the challenges that lie ahead.”
Dagdag pa nito, “In a time marked by division discord and international uncertainty, our alliance represents a beacon of hope a symbol of what can be achieved when we work towards a common goal. We understand that the road ahead for our country will not always be easy, but we are prepared to face the trials and tribulations with unwavering determination and unwavering resolved.”
