The Philippines has rejected the call of United Nations on condemning and end to human rights violation against minority of Rohinya Muslim in Myanmar.

China, the Philippines and Burundi voted against the move, voted against the resolution of UN Human Rights Council, while 37 voted to condemn and seven abstain.

In the resolution, UN encouraged Myanmar government to allow “voluntary, safe, dignified, and sustainable” return of the Rohingya. It also said policies, directives and practices that marginalize the country’s minorities should be reversed and abandoned.

The United Nations has called Myanmar’s actions “ethnic cleansing”, a charge Myanmar rejects, blaming Rohingya “terrorists” for most accounts of atrocities.

Over the last year, more than 700,000 Rohingya Muslims have fled the Buddhist-majority country to neighboring Bangladesh following a military response to attacks on security posts by Rohingya insurgents.

Earlier this year, President Rodrigo Duterte has offered Filipino citizenship to Rohingya refugees.
