MANILA – Aabot na sa 1,255,716 doses ng COVID-19 vaccines ang naiturok ng Pilipinas, higit isang buwan mula nang mag-umpisa ang vaccination rollout ng bansa.

Batay sa pinakabagong datos ng Department of Health (DOH) at National Task Force against COVID-19, mahigit 1.93-million mula sa nabanggit na bilang ang naturukan ng unang dose.
Ayon sa DOH, binubuo ng healthcare workers, senior citizens, at may comorbidity o may sakit ang naturang bilang. At mula sa mga ito, 162,065 na ang nabakunahan ng ikalawang dose.
Nabakunahan sila gamit ang total allocation na higit 1.7-million doses.
“With the arrival of the additional 500,000 additional doses last Sunday, the total available doses in the country are now over 3M doses, of which 93% doses have been distributed to different regions—this equates to a total of 2,801,020 doses distributed throughout the country.”
“In one week, we were able to successfully distribute almost 900k doses to all our regions—this is a testament to our logistics handling and cold chain capabilities and shows that we are ready to distribute vaccines quickly once the bulk of the vaccine doses from our negotiations and COVAX arrive.”
Dahil sa patuloy na pagtaas ng COVID-19 cases, pinalakas daw ng gobyerno ang pakikipag-ugnayan sa pribadong sektor para masimula na rin ang rollout ng mga bakuna sa A4 priority group o economic frontliners.
“This partnership will allow the government to protect more Filipinos much quicker and will allow for a larger-scale rollout of vaccines upon arrival of the procured and donated vaccines come midyear.”
Sa ngayon ang COVID-19 vaccines ng Sinovac at AstraZeneca pa rin ang ginagamit sa bansa, bagamat may inaasahang pagdating ng Sputnik V vaccines ngayong buwan mula Russia.
