DAGUPAN CITY – National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. echoes President Rodrigo Duterte that drug cases in the country has worsened.
In an exclusive interview with Bombo Radyo Dagupan, Sec. Esperon believes on the ‘initial assessment’ of President Duterte that the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) continues to seize large volumes of illegal drugs smuggled by drug syndicates.
He even mentioned the ₱900-million pesos worth of ‘floating cocaine’ and ₱1.8-billion worth of drugs that was recovered at the Manila International Container Port.
However, he assured that anyone proven guilty will be held accountable by the government.
On a data released by PDEA, there was a gradual increase in the number of drug personalities killed during buy bust operations with atleast 5, 281 from July 2016 until last February.
With a total of 123, 000 operations, 170,000 civilian and uniformed personnel were arrested while a multi-billion worth of drugs were also confiscated.
The President of the Philippines said first that he will kill drug syndicates who still continue to smuggle illegal drugs.
