Hindi nawawalan ng pag-asa ang peace panel ng gobyerno sa muling pagtanggap ng Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) sa usapang pangkapayapaan kasunod ng pahayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Dutete hinggil sa posibleng pagbabalik ng peace talks.
Sinabi ni Presidential Communications and Operations Office (PCOO) Sec. Martin Andanar na umaasa ang pamahalaan na ikokonsidera ni CPP founding chairman Jose Maria Sison ang panibagong proposal na ilalatag ni Labor Sec. Silvestre Bello III na siyang appointed chief ng government peace panel sa mga komunista.
Nitong Huwebes nang utusan ni Duterte si Bello na makipag-usap muli kay Sison para matuloy ang peace negotiations.
Ito na raw ang huling pagtataya ng administrasyon para maabot na ang kapayapaan sa pagitan ng estado at mga rebelde.
“Our search for all possible avenues to achieve a just and lasting peace on this matter is not so that the government can claim it has won and succeeded, but to show that both groups can co-exist, find common ground, and work together towards building a firm yet peaceful Philippine society, where there is no place for armed conflicts,” ani Andanar.
