“Three storms have consecutively affected the country this month alone and now a potential super typhoon is heading our way. We are determined to do all we can to help these communities prepare for the oncoming storm,” ani Gordon sa isang statement.
“This is even more important when we are faced with multiple disasters, including COVID-19 and successive typhoons.”
Naglabas na raw ng Disaster Relief Emergency Fund ang International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Socities (IFRC) sa PRC.
“We have to simultaneously respond to climate and health emergencies. The Red Cross is working to help communities prepare and ensure that they will be protected from COVID-19 transmission,” ani IFRC head for Philippines Robert Kaufman.
“We must respond to these disasters in ways that also help prevent the spread of the virus during evacuations.”
