Foreign recruitment agencies in Kuwait have been suspended by the Philippine government after the brutal killing of overseas Filipino worker, Jullebee Ranara in the said country.

Yesterday, Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) spokesman Toby Nebrida confirmed the new regulations for foreign recruitment agencies to be implemented.

The new regulations for the accreditation, job orders and employment contracts is effective starting January 29, according to Kuwait-based Migrant Workers Officer-In-Charg Catherine Duladul.

Only those with clean records will be allowed to process the application, Duladul added.

“Application for accreditation of new, dual and replacement is suspended pending a review of existing accredited FRAs,” Kuwait-based Migrant Workers Officer-In-Charg Catherine Duladul.

There will only be 50 slots for additional job orders, provided that their balance is not more than 15.

On the implemented new regulations, 20 individual employment contracts will be accommodated per week.

Securing of clearance from Department of Migrant Workers is also required before the submission and processing of additional job orders.

Finally, a monthly monitoring report about the condition of deployed workers should be submitted.
