The Philippines and the United Kingdom have agreed to start “meat trade missions” to open up more possibilities for the two countries to trade meat products.

British Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Executive Director Chris Nelson said this is key to food security for both countries.

He said this will help stabilize meat prices in the Philippines as the country battles the outbreak of African Swine fever.

Nelson said that long-term relationships between Filipino and UK businessmen will be key to boosting trade between the two countries in the long term.

To recall, the DA said that more than 15 provinces in our country were affected by African Swine Fever.

The said department asserted that once approved, the Philippines will import 600,000 doses of vaccines from Vietnam.
