The Philippine Statistics Authority reported that the number of unemployed Filipinos in the country has increased.

This is after the agency recorded a 4.5% unemployment rate in the Philippines in June 2023 with the equivalent of 2.33 million jobless Filipinos.

This is higher compared to the 4.3% unemployment rate or 2.17 million unemployed individuals that was first recorded in the month of May 2023.

Meanwhile, the agency also recorded an increase in the underemployment rate in the country which hit 12% in the month of June, from 11.7% that was first recorded last month.

This is equivalent to the 5.87-million underemployed workers recorded in June, still higher compared to the 5.66-million underemployed workers in May.
