Philipine Information agency (PIA) Director General Harold Clavite has resigned from his current position.

He confirmed this through his social media post, stating that his life has been a “roller coaster ride” for three years and decided to lessen some stress.

“It’s official. I’ve separated from the Philippine Information Agency effective today. Many thanks to all who have been part of my journey. I appreciate all the support given by our partners in government, the private sector, and the general public,” Clavite said.

“It has been a roller coaster ride the past three years and I look forward to a less stressful private life now. I have contributed a lot and have completed my purpose of giving up my career and life in the United States to serve my home country, the #Philippines. I will be back to my family and take care of my own now,” he added.

Last June, Clavite was being investigated by Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) due to allegedly splitting contracts, misusing of funds for hotel accomodation and irregularities in the production of information materials.

However, he denied all these allegations against him.

“Rest assured, I will continue to be an advocate for peace, good governance, and a more responsible citizenry. I will continue to promote and foster a freer world through information and communication by advocating #responsiblesocialmedia and responsible sharing of information. I will continue to support the work in #Marawi,” he added.
