Kapana-panabik ang magiging collaboration ng Pinay YouTube sensation na si Renee Domique at American singer na si Jason Mraz.
Maswerte ngang napili si Renee ng Grammy-winning singer na maka-duet sa kanyang bagong single.
Sa exclusive interview ng 89.5 Star FM Baguio sa 20-year-old Pinay, ikunwento nito na mismong ang team ng singer ang nagpahayag ng kanilang interes sa isang collaboration at sumunod naman ang mismong mensahe mula kay Mraz, na nakapanuod ng kanyang viral version ng kantang “Somewhere Only We Know†sa YouTube.
“I freaked out. Big fan na po talaga ako ever since I was young. All his songs are really on my playlist ever since I was in grade school. It’s surreal and I’m super grateful that I’m given the opportunity. I never really expected to be discovered by someone as big as Jason Mraz, and to be able to collaborate with him, it’s such a dream come true,†anya ng dalaga.
Masaya ring ibinahagi ng singer na special guest siya sa upcoming concert ni Mraz sa May 8 sa bansa.
Dagdag rin nito, pinaghahandaan niya ng mabuti ang performance niya sa concert na sinabi niya ring “biggest stage that she will be performing on.â€
“We will be singing our single in that concert pero hindi pa po siya released. We will be releasing the single probably around the last week of May. We’ve actually been really working on the song. [I’m just] really trying to prepare myself and compose myself. Sana wag akong mag fan girl!.â€
Unang nakilala si Renee bilang YouTube sensation na gumagawa ng bagong arrangement ng mga old songs gamit ang ukeleile at gitara.
Naging agaw-atensyon din sa internet ang version niya ng Keane song na “Somewhere Only We Know†para sa commercial ng isang phone brand.
“I started on YouTube around 6 or 7 years ago. Slowly, it too off. Though there was a time na nagkaroon ako ng hiatus because I was in college but now, I have a contract. I’m really greatful na kahit matagal akong naghintay, thank God po na now it’s slowly taking off again.â€
Bagamat ito ay tumigil sa pagkanta noon, naniniwala ang dalaga na hindi dapat mainip o mawalan ng pag-asa ang sinumang gustong tumupad ng isang pangarap.
“It’s really just about trusting God’s time. I’ve been trying to work for my big break for six years already, and there were times talaga na I got discouraged kasi walang nangyayari, or I would see other people instantly get their breaks agad. So I think for me, it’s really about trusting God’s time and just using the time you have to work on your character and your craft, and to really not compare yourself to other people.â€
Mapapanuod ang Good Vibes Concert Tour ni Jason Mraz sa May 8 sa Pasay City kung saan special guest si Renee. Kasama rin ito sa Singapore leg ng nasabing tour.
