GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Police authorities apprehended a woman accused in the 2018 bombing in Purok Malipayon, Barangay Apopong, General Santos City.
Bombo Radyo GenSan reported that Baina Sahak, 20 years old, married and a resident of Purok View, Barangay Tambler was arrested yesterday over multiple frustrated murder charges.
According to P/Major Ananias Vasquez, Makar Police Station chief of police, Baina together with other suspects were responsible in the IED Explosion in front of Bonita Lying In Center along National Highway, Barangay Apopong last September 16, 2018 that injured eight victims.
Based on the information that Bombo Radyo GenSan gathered, Baina is wife of Bassir Sahak, alleged leader of special operation group of ISIS-inspired terror group Ansar al Khilafa Philippines which was previously led by Tukboy Maguid who was killed in apolice operation in Kiamba, Sarangani last January 2017.
In October 2018, Bassir was also killed in a police operation Barangay Daliao Maasim.
However, Baina denied that she and her husband were involved in the GenSan bombing.
10 other suspects are still at large and subject of man-hunt operation by police authorities. (with reports from Bombo Radyo GenSan)
