CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Police Regional Office (PRO-10) of Northern Mindanao has confiscated a total of 177 firearms violating the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) gun ban since January 30.
Lt. Col. Surki Sereñas, PR0-10 spokesperson says that the number of gunholders violating the poll body’s Resolution No. 10446 otherwise known as the ban bearing, carrying or transporting firearms, has climbed up to 166 as of April 26, 2019.
Sereñas said that most of the arrests and seizure were done in checkpoints, and serving of search warrants under Oplan Bakal.
Aside from Oplan Bakal, police also implemented Oplan Katok for all gun owners bearing without or expired gun licenses.
