Istriktong ipapatupad daw ng PNP Joint Task Force (JTF) COVID Shield ang implementasyon ng mga quarantine protocols kahit balik na sa General Community Quarantine (GCQ) ang Metro Manila at mga karatig probinsiya.
Naniniwala si JTF commander Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, epektibo ang pagpapatupad ng istriktong quarantine rules at ang dagdag na presensiya ng mga pulis sa mga quarantine checkpoints para mapigilan ang paglaganap pa ng COVID-19 virus.
Sinabi ni Eleazar, nakokontrol kasi ang paglabas ng mga tao at namomonitor kung sumusunod ang mga ito sa mga safety and health protocols.
“We in the JTF COVID Shield believe that prevention through strict enforcement if quarantine rules is part of the medical solution against COVID-19. And we can only succed in this effort if the national government and the LGUs, especially the barangay officials, would effectively work together to ensure that all people should comply with the quarantine rules,” wika ni Eleazar.
Pero dahil sa kulang ang pwersa ng mga pulis kailangan nila ang tulong ng mga barangay officials lalo na ang kanilang mga barangay tanod na tutulong sa pagpapatupad sa minimum health protocol gaya ng pagsuot ng face mask, tiyakin na mayroong physical distancing at tiyakin na walang mass gathering.
Sinabi ni Eleazar panahon na para magkaroon ng sariling ordinances ang mga mga LGU para sa mas mahigpit na implementasyon ng quarantine rules.
“The lack of manpower and resources to cover the entire country could be well filled up by the more than 42,000 barangays in the country which have their own respective security forces through the barangay tanod,” pahayag pa ni Gen. Eleazar.
Giit ni Eleazar mahalaga ang active participation ng mga barangay officials at LGUs lalo na sa pag-contain sa mga galaw ng mga tao para mapigilan ang pagkalat ng COVID-19 virus.
