BAGUIO CITY – Police Regional Office Cordillera (PRO-Cor) will continue beefed up manhunt and clearing operations against fleeing members of New People’s Army (NPA) they encountered at the mountain areas of Tadian and Bauko, Mountain Province.

In an interview with Bombo Radyo, PRO-Cor Regional Director Police Brigadier General Israel Ephraim Dickson said they will pursue their operations until rebels in the Cordilleras will surrender or neutralized.

However, he admitted they need to be extra vigilant to get rid of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and landmines planted by the rebels along the mountains.

Yesterday, a police corporal died while eight of his fellow police officers were injured when IED planted by fleeing rebels exploded while pursuing them at the mountain areas of Bauko and Tadian, Mountain Province.
