BACOLOD CITY – Paghahanda parin para sa kanyang debut sa Tokyo Olympics kahit kailan pa ito mangyari ang nais ni Pinoy Pole Vaulter EJ Obiena at dahil sarado ang training center nila dulot ng Corona Virus Desease 2019 sa Italy ay sa bahay ng mga kaibigan na lamang siya nag iinsayo.
Sa panayam ng Star FM Bacolod kay Obiena, sinabi niyang hindi din basta-basta ang pinagdadaanan niya ngayon sa Italy para makapag training parin sa ligtas na paraan sa kabila ng banta ng Covid-19.
” I’ll try to do my best and be ready to be prepared whenever it will happen. To be honest I’m also in the kind of amid so everything is hard to feel normal right now but this is life and this is we are currently facing and we are together, stronger together. And there’s gonna be new norm after this and we just need to look forward to that and make the most of what we have.”
Si Obiena ay unang Filipino na na-qualify sa 2021 Tokyo Olympics matapos ang tagumpay nito sa South East Asian Games.
