BAGUIO CITY – Authorities finally arrested the suspect behind the brutal killing of a headless man found along the road of Sitio Pagturao, Bontoc Ili, Bontoc, Mountain Province last Monday.
Police Regional Office Cordillera identified the suspect as Kevin Ongaron Changat, 25 years old, a butcher, and a resident of Pattig, Bontoc Ili, Bontoc, Mountain Province.
The beheaded body sustained multiple hack wounds on its chest and lower extremities. A knife was also found pireced on the corpse’s body.
The victim was then identified as Wilfred Bandao Aquino, 31 years old, also a butcher and a native of Masoc, Bayombong, Nueva Viscaya .
In the investigation conducted by the authorities, Larry Chugwawi, a resident of Fatayan, Bontoc Ili, Mountain Province, witnessed the two having a drinking spree in a slaughter house Pagturao, Bontoc Ili, Bontoc, Mountain Province.
The following morning, a concerned citizen saw a body along the road wherein responding police officers found the beheaded cadaver of the victim.
The Municipal Heath Officer and personnel of the Provincial Crime Laboratory Office recovered the head of the victim at the crime scene.
Police arrested Chugwawi and Changat inside a shanty near the crime scene but after further investigation, the first was released while the latter was charged for murder after blood was found on his hands and feet.
