Pope Francis will not be able to participate in the outdoor “Way of the Cross” commemoration of Good Friday this year due to bad weather.
The temperatures in Rome are expected to reach around 10 degrees Celsius.
The pontiff will still be attending the Good Friday service at St. Peter’s Basilica, Vatican instead of attending outdoor events.
For the first time in history since 2013, the Pope will not be presiding over the “Via Crucis”.
In connection to this, it can be remembered that the Pope just got out of the hospital a week ago due to bronchitis.
Pope Francis spent almost four days in the hospital while recovering from his illness.
Meanwhile, expect the Pope to lead the upcoming Easter vigil Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica.
He will be delivering his twice-annual “Urbi et Orbi” message at St. Peter’s Square.
