Magbabanggaan sa isang tune-up game bago ang pag-uumpisa ng FIBA World Cup ang Team USA at Spain, na bigating mga koponan sa basketball.
Batay sa ulat, gaganapin ang match-up ng dalawang powerhouse teams sa araw ng Sabado, oras sa Pilipinas.
Gayunman, mistulang hindi excited ang magkabilang panig dahil wala pa sa hustong kondisyon ang kanilang mga players.
Ayon kay Spain coach Sergio Scariolo, karamihan sa kanyang mga bata ay mayroong load management sa kanilang playing time.
Ibig sabihin, binabawasan ang bigat ng training ng mga players upang mapanatili ang pagiging epektibo nila sa mga susunod pang panahon.
“We still have 14 players. Not all of our players are in 100 percent shape yet, and most of them are kind of in a load management in terms of their playing time. I think it’s going to be a nice game between good teams … but the final product, not at all,” wika ni Scariolo.
Sa panig naman ni U.S. coach Gregg Popovich, sa ngayon ay sinusubukan pa nilang bumuo ng isang solidong basketball team.
Ani Popovich, maliban sa karanasang mapupulot nila sa nasabing exhibition match, magiging parte rin daw ito ng kanyang evaluation sa kanyang players.
“We’re trying to form a basketball team. So familiarity and camaraderie is important, understanding who they’re playing with, what each other does on the court, that’s all new to our guys. Understanding how we want to play and the system we think we need to play to win, just taking further steps hopefully without skipping any,” ani Popovich.
Babandera sa world No. 1 na USA sina All-Star guard Kemba Walker, Donovan Mitchell, at Khris Middleton.
Habang sina Marc Gasol at Ricky Rubio ang mangunguna naman sa Spanish squad.
