An inmate from New Bilibid Prison (NBP) stabbed a prison guard inside the maximum security compound in Muntinlupa on Thursday morning.
The incident came along with the continuation of Senate hearing in connection with good conduct time allowance (GCTA) and alleged corruption inside NBP.
The victim was identified as Correction Inspector Ferrer. He was rushed into the Bilibid hospital.
Ferrer sustained superficial stab wound on his lower abdominal and has been given commensurate medical care.

Meanwhile, the Muntinlupa police expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) on conducting a further investigation with the incident.
