Tiniyak ni incoming AFP chief of staff Lt Gen. Cirilito Sobejana na kaniyang isusulong pa ang propesyonalismo sa hanay ng AFP upang mapangalagaan ang seguridad ng mga Pilipino at ng buong bansa.
“Let us work together to pursue a professional military that is always ready to protect the Filipino people and secure the country,” mensahe ni Sobejana.
Lubos ang pasasalamat ni Philippine Army chief at incoming AFP chief of staff kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa pagkakahirang sa kaniya kapalit ni Gen. Gilbert Gapay na magreretiro na sa serbisyo sa darating na February 4, 2021.
Sa eksklusibong panayam ng Bombo Radyo kay Sobejana kaniyang sinabi na bukod sa Pangulo kaniya rin pinasasalamatan ang Panginoon na patuloy siyang ginagabayan at binigyan ng pagkakataon para maging pinuno ng Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas.
“Firstly I’m very thankful to our Almighty for making me one, and for all the guidance, protection and direction he provided me throughout my military career, and Im also thankful to our President for the trust and confidence on my capacity to lead the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and all the people that are part of this decision of the President for me to become the incoming chief of staff,” pahayag pa ni Sobejana sa panayam ng Bombo Radyo.
Siniguro ni Sobejana na pamumunuan niya ang AFP ng may kababaang-loob at dedikasyon upang matagumpay na magampanan ng AFP ang kanilang misyon.
“I am deeply grateful for the trust given to me by our Commander-in-Chief President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to take on responsibility and ensuring that this great institution of ours will faithfully perform its duty in protecting the sovereignty of our country against internal and foreign threats.
Rest assured too that I will carry on our mission with the same fervor and commitment as the new leader of the AFP with humility and dedication.”
