Kuntento umano ang Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) sa ginagawang pagsasaayos ng government sports facilities bago ang nakatakdang hosting ng bansa sa 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
Sinabi ni PSC Chairman William “Butch” Ramirez, mabilis daw ang usad ng development ng proyekto kaagapay na rin ang Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) at National Historical Institute (NHI).
Maaari din aniyang magamit na ang mga ito bago pa man ang SEA Games sa Nobyembre.
Tiniyak din ni Ramirez na aayusin din sa hinaharap ang iba pang sports facilities sa buong bansa.
Paliwanag pa ng opisyal, matagal na kasing nakabinbin ang pagsasaayos ng Rizal Memorial Sports Complex sa Manila, ang Philsports Sports Complex sa Pasig at Teachers’ Camp sa Baguio sa mga prayoridad ng Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kahit bago pa man ang hosting ng bansa sa SEA Games.
“The President is also a sportsman. He played basketball, rides bikes, shoots, swims and many more,” wika ni Ramirez. “Sports is among his priorities when he was elected President of the republic and his marching order to the PSC was to rehabilitate sports venues to benefit our athletes.”
