Six people who were detained during last week’s raids on the residences of Negros Oriental Representative Arnolfo Teves Jr. and his family in the province have complaints filed against them, police announced on Tuesday.

According to a statement from the Philippine National Police’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP CIDG), Teves’ secretary, Hannah Mae Sumerano Oray, was among those detained.

Last Friday, March 10, 2023, the raids were carried out at five different addresses in Basay and Bawayan City in Negros Oriental.

Benhur Abalos, the interior secretary, had stated that the police carried out the raids to look for illegal firearms.

“Following the said operation, on Sunday (March 12, 2023), the CIDG presented the arrested  persons for inquest proceeding before the State Prosecutors of the Department of Justice,” the CIDG said.
