A giant toad was found in the north Australian rainforest, it was six times bigger than a normal toad and weighs 2.7kg.
The giant cane toad was called “Toadzilla”, it was immediately placed in a comfortable container.
Park ranger Kylee Gray found the giant cane toad while patrolling in Queensland.
“I’ve never seen anything so big, almost like a football with legs. We dubbed it Toadzilla,” Kylee Gray said.
It is believed to be female and could possibly set a new world record.
The current Guinness World Record weighs 2.65 kg, it was set by a pet toad in Sweden in the year 1991.
According to Gray, this giant species is more likely to bulk out on a diet of insects, reptiles, and small mammals.
“A cane toad that size will eat anything it can fit into its mouth,” she added.
As practice in Australia, Toadzilla has been euthanized and will be donated to the Queensland Museum.
