Umaabot na sa P7.8 million sa life insurance benefits ang naipaluwal ng Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) habang P2 million naman ang naibahagi sa naiwang pamilya ng namatay na apat na government medical frontliners dahil sa COVID-19.
Sa sulat ni GSIS president at general manager Rolando Ledesma Macasaet kay President Rodrigo Duterte, kanyang iniulat na sa ngayon pinoproseso na rin ang insurance claims ng 18 pang mga claimant families.
Bilang mga GSIS members, ang lahat ng medical frontliners sa gobyerno ay sakop ng compulsory life insurance program.
Dagdag pa rito ang ibibigay na kalahating milyong piso sa mga naiwalang pamilya ng public health frontliners batay na rin sa sa Bayanihan Fund for Frontliners (BFF).
“GSIS recently released a total of Php7.8 million in life insurance benefits plus an additional Php2 million in BFF benefits to the legal heirs of four government medical frontliners who died of COVID-19. We are currently in the process of validating the insurance claims of 18 other claimant-families,” bahagi pa ng report ni Macasaet. “Once we have all the documentary requirements, we commit and assure the president that GSIS will release their insurance checks within two work days.”
Samantala patuloy rin naman ang koordinasyon ng GSIS sa Department of Health (DOH) upang matulungan ang pagproseso sa release ng insurance sa loob lamang dalawang araw.
