Father Luciano Felloni, a well-known Catholic priest recognized for his work in drug user rehabilitation and his innovative use of social media for evangelization, passed away on Sunday, February 2, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 51 years old.

The Diocese of Novaliches announced his death, expressing grief in a statement: ‘With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Fr. Luciano Felloni today. Please keep Fr. Father Felloni had been receiving treatment at a hospital in Metro Manila, after publicly revealing in November 2024 that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer the previous year.

Despite his illness, Father Felloni continued to inspire others through his social media posts. On January 17, he shared a candid update on his struggles with cancer treatment, describing the emotional and physical rollercoaster he endured.

‘Cancer treatment is a real rollercoaster. One day you are super ok and the next you are down with fever,’ he wrote.

Known for his profound commitment to helping others, Father Felloni made significant contributions to the rehabilitation of drug users and was a vocal advocate for their reintegration into society.

His legacy also includes the innovative ways in which he used social media platforms to spread the message of faith and reach a broader audience.
