The price of rice across the country decreased last month but remains higher than last year.
According to Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) National Statistician Dennis Mapa, rice inflation with the largest contribution to the food basket dropped to 13.2% in October from 17.9% in September.
According to the PSA official, there is a decrease in the price of regular and well-milled rice compared to the data in September.
Where the average price for regular milled rice nationwide at ₱45.40 per kilo, .
Per kilo of well milled rice also decreased to ₱51 from ₱52.70 in September.
The price of special rice was also reduced to ₱61 from ₱61.10.
