MANILA – Kinumpirma ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) na bukas sa posibilidad na tumakbo bilang presidente si VP Leni Robredo pagdating ng 2022 elections.

“She remains open to all options, including a possible candidacy for President, and at the appropriate time, she will personally convey her decision on this matter,” ani OVP spokesperson Atty. Barry Gutierrez.
Ang pahayag ni Gutierrez ay kasunod ng anunsyo ni dating Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV na naghahanda na si Robredo sa pagtakob bilang gobernador ng Camarines Sur.
Ayon sa OVP spokespeson, walang katotohanan ang sinabi ni Trillanes dahil abala pa ang pangalawang pangulo sa pagbibigay tulong sa mga apektado ng pandemya.
“There is absolutely no truth to the claim that she is making “preparations” to run for Governor of Camarines Sur.”
“This is not a time for politicking, but for working for the people’s welfare.”
Nilinaw ni Gutierrez na sa ngayon, wala pang desisyon si Robredo tungkol sa kanyang plano sa 2022 elections.
“As VP Leni has repeatedly stated, her focus remains on helping our fellow Filipinos through the Covid-19 crisis. She has not made a decision regarding the 2022 elections.”
