Inanunsiyo ng International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) na simula sa Lunes hindi na rin nila papayagan ang mga Russian at Belarusian athletes at officials kabilang na ang mga judges na makalahok sa mga kompetisyon.
Kung maalala ang Belarus ay kasabwat ng Russia sa pag-atake sa Ukraine.
Ang pag-ban sa mga athletes at officials ay nangangahulugan na ang dalawang federations ay hindi makakasali sa Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships na gaganapin sa Baku, Azerbaijan mula March 10-13.
Sinabi pa ng FIG na ang Russian at Belarusian national flags ay hindi rin dapat iwagayway maging ang mga national anthems sa mga laro na sanctioned ng gymnastics federation.
“The FIG would like to stress that these exceptional and emergency measures are decided and issued in view of the above-mentioned extraordinary circumstances,” ani FIG statement. “They constitute preventive measures aiming at preserving the integrity of Gymnastics, the safety and integrity of members and all athletes and participants, and at fighting against all forms of violence and of sports injustice.”
