The anti-graft court has ordered the imprisonment of former Comelec Commissioner Grace Padaca due to the malversation of funds.
Padaca was sentenced 10 years minimum of imprisonment to a maximum of 14 years imprisonment in connection with the granting of P25 million to a non-government organization (NGO) of farmers in Isabela without a proper bidding process.
For her graft and corruption case, she was sentenced to suffer the penalty of 6-10 years imprisonment.
Aside from this, Padaca was also disqualified from holding any position in the government or from running for any elective local or national position.
The Sandiganbayan set Padaca’s bail to P140,000 for her temporary liberty and was given 10 days to post it.
