The Philippines has won its first gold medal in arnis for the 30th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) held at Angeles University Foundation, Pampanga City.
Dexler Bolambao defeated Thailand’s bet Soc Paing in the 55 kg category livestick bantamweight via unanimous decision.
He dominated the first three rounds of the game with the heartfelt support from his teammates.
SEA Games officials were very proud of Bolamboa as well as Sen. Migs Zubiri, president of Philippine Eskrima, Kali, Arnis Federation.
The 23-year old athlete gave the country’s 10th gold.
