Nakatakdang pormal nang ipasa ng Malaysia ang Southeast Asian (SEA) Games torch and flame sa Pilipinas sa darating na Oktubre 3.
Isasagawa ang turnover ceremony sa Bukit Jalil National Stadium sa Kula Lumpur, Malaysia.
Mangunguna sina Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (PHISGOC) chairman at House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, chef de mission chairman Butch Ramirez ng Philippines Sports Commission at Philippine Olympic Committee president at Rep. Bambol Tolentino sa pagtanggap ng hosting role mula sa Malaysian Olympic Committee.
Makakasama rin sina POC chairman Steven Hontiveros at POC secretary-general lawyer Ed Gastanes ganon din mga commissioners at assistant CDMs Celia Kiram at Arnold Agustin.
Ayon kay PHISGOC ceremonies director Mike Aguilar na mahalaga ang flame handover ceremony dahil dito ipinapakita ang paglipat ng responsibilidad mula sa nakaraan at kasalukuyan.
Isasagawa naman sa ilang piling lugar sa bansa ang torch relay tulad sa Davao, Cebu, Clark, Senate, Congress at Malacanang sa Manila.
Ang torch design na gagamitin ngayong 30th SEA Games ay inspired mula sa sampaguita na sumisimbolo ng purity, simplicity, humility at strength.
Magsisimula sa Nobyembre 30 hanggang Disyembre 11 ang SEA Games na lalahukan ng Laos, Malaysia, Cambodia, Brunei, Singapore, Myanmar, Thailand, Timor Leste, Vietnam at host Pilipinas.
