Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Emilio Benito Aquino confidently said that the court will not waste its time to a defective complaint filed by the members of Kabus Padatoon International Ministry Incorparated (KAPA).
SEC and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) earlier identified KAPA as the biggest investment scam in the country, having P50 billion investment assets.
In an interview over Bombo Radyo, Chairman Aquino pointed out some issues regarding the complaint filed by Rhema Int’l Livelihood Foundation at the Supreme Court (SC).
According to Aquino, while he is representing a government office as chairman of SEC, the petition treated him as a private respondent and Rappler CEO Maria Ressa was identified by KAPA as public respondent.
On the same complaint, petitioners stated their intention to file an impeachment case against President Rodrigo Duterte.
The SEC head believes that the high court is not the proper venue for any impeachment case.
“Impeachment complaints should be filed with the Office of the Secretary General of the House of Representatives,” Aquino said.
