Pumalag ang ilang senador sa babala ni Cong. Rolando Andaya Jr., na posibleng managot ang Senado matapos umanong i-sabotahe ang nilalaman ng pinagtibay na 2019 budget bill.

Dinipensahan ni Sen. Panfilo Lacson ang ginawang pagtapyas ng mataas na kapulungan sa ilang pondong inilaan dahil sa banta ng pork barrel.

Kabilang na dito ang sinasabing P75-billion na insertion sa DPWH.

Inamin din nito na siya ang main proponent ng karamihan sa mga budget cut na ginawa ng Senado.

“While I was the main proponent of most of the cuts which I did only upon the requests or concurrence of the agencies, I was aware of the presence of ‘pork,’ thus my dissenting vote on its ratification,” ani Lacson.

Nabatid umano ng Senado na walang ideya ang DPWH sa P20-billion budget na inilaan para sa kanilang right of way fund.

Maging ang DILG ay hindi rin umano nasabihan na binigyan sila ng P16-billion na budget para sa financial assistance ng mga local government unit.

Other realignments were used to augment the much depleted HFEP (Health Facilities Enhancement Program (HFEP); the activation of the PA 11th Infantry Division upon the direction of the President; adjustments or the purchase of medicines by the Veterans Memorial Medical Center due to the increase in the price index of medicines, and other institutional amendments, and therefore should not be regarded as pork,” dagdag pa ng senador.

Ayon naman kay Senate Pres. Tito Sotto, malinaw na panibagong pagtatangka ito ng House Committee on Appropriations chair para igilan ang pangulo na i-veto ang sinasabing illegal realignments ng Kamara.

“It’s a last ditch effort to obfuscate the issue and try to prevent the President’s veto of their illegal realignments,” ani Sotto.
