MANILA- Senators are expected to line up their set of bills and resolutions as a preparation for the opening of the 18th Congress on July 22.

Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto will file the first 10 bills. Based on the information gathered from the Senate president’s office, here are the first 10 priority measures of Sotto:

  1. Medical Scholarship Act
  2. Anti drug Penal Institution
  3. Presidential Drug Enforcement Authority
  4. Dangerous Drugs Court
  5. Sim card registration act
  6. Anti Fake news Act
  7. Increasing Penalty for Perjury
  8. Prevention of Terrorism Act
  9. Hybrid Election Act
  10. 14th month pay law.

Next in line would be Senate Minority leader Franklin Drilon, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, Sen. Francis Pangilinan and Senate President Pro-Tempore Ralph Recto.

While Sen. Sonny Angara promised to set his focus on measures that will “boost social protection, improve access to and quality of education and better health care, guarantee food security, and create economic and job opportunities.”

  2. Underprivileged Students’ Discount Act
  3. Increasing the Monthly Social Pension of Senior Citizens
  4. Dialysis Center Act
  5. Reso on Dialysis Fraud
  6. Tatak Pinoy Reso
  7. Magna Carta for Seafarers
  8. Magna Carta for Barangays
  9. Comprehensive Anti-Discrimination Act
  10. Zero Hunger / Right to Adequate Framework.

Meanwhile, Sen. Risa Hontiveros will continue to push for Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) Bill that will fight for gender equality.
