At least two people died and an individual sustained injuries when a Sogo branch in Malate, Manila collapsed on Monday morning.
Based on reports, the building has been vacant for a year and was under demolition when it collapsed around 9:30 a.m.
According to Manila Police District (MPD) chief Brigadier General Vicente Danao Jr, at least two people inside were injured while one was already rushed to the Ospital ng Maynila.
The victims were identified as Jerome Fabello, Melo Izon, and Edson Izon.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno also went to the scene and survey the area.
He also gave directives to the management of Hotel Sogo to check if there are still customers inside the building when the incident occured.
