With still a month before he faces Manny Pacquiao, unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. is already looking for his next possible fight, a potential title match against one of the top welterweight, Terrence “Bud” Crawford.
“I definitely want that fight, and we’ve just got to make it happen,” Spence said in Showtime.
However, he will not force his camp and Crawford’s side if they don’t want to because Spence is planning to move up if he can’t fight the other best in their division, finally settling who is the king of the welterweight.
“It’s for his guys and my guys to talk to each other and see if it can happen.
“If it can’t happen, I’ve got to move up.”
Boxing fans can remember that one of the most anticipated matchups was also killed years ago involving Crawford and Pacquiao.
The two were supposed to do a mega-fight; however, Pacquiao’s former promoter Bob Arum of the Top Rank later admitted that he purposely killed the fight so that none of his best fighters would get hurt.
Will this also be the case for Spence-Crawford?
