KORONADAL CITY – Sri Lankans expressed their dismay over the alleged inaction by their government when they received an imminent threat prior to the series of bombing which killed and wounded hundreds of victims.
Narada Dissanayake, spokesman of Sri Lanka Freedom Party, relayed to Bombo Radyo Koronadal that Cabinet spokesman Rajitha Senaratne confirmed the said threat was sent last April 4, 2019.
This was contrary to the initial statement of Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe who vehemently denied such information and called it “publication of false documents”.
Because of this, most Sri Lankans cannot help but feel extreme disappointment towards their government because of their failure on implementing an appropriate response.
Dissanayake added that the bloody tragedy could have been prevented if only the government quickly responded to the threat.
More than 20 suspects were held by the authorities that were believed to have connection to the attacks.
