BUTUAN CITY – Local government in Cantilan, Surigao del Sur will recognize its Red Dragon boat team after they delivered a gold medal at the International Dragon Boat Carnival 2019 held in Guangdong, China.
It is the first time Surigao paddlers compete outside the country where they defeated 11 dragon boat teams in a 3,000-kilometer category.
They also won silver medals for 200 and 500-meter races.
