Nakapagtala ng apat na minor successive phreatic o steam-driven eruptions ang Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) sa nakalipas na 24 oras.
Nai-rehistro ito bandang alas-8:00 ng umaga, bago magtanghali at dalawa pa noong bandang hapon.
Ang pagbuga ng usok ay umabot sa 300 meters sa Main Crater ng bulkan.
“The events produced white steam-laden plumes that rose between 50 and 300 meters above the Main Crater before drifting west-northwest based on IP camera monitors,” saad ng Phivolcs advisory.
Maliban dito, nagkaroon din ng pagtaas ng sulfur dioxide mula pa noong Mayo 13, 2024.
Gayunman, nananatili ito sa alert level 1 dahil hindi naman umano maituturing na banta sa kaligtasan ang mga pagbuga ng usok at abo ng Taal.
“Furthermore, degassing of high concentrations of volcanic SO2 continues to pose the threat of potential long-term health impacts to communities around Taal Caldera that are frequently exposed to volcanic gas. DOST-PHIVOLCS strongly recommends that entry into TVI, Taal’s Permanent Danger Zone or PDZ, especially the vicinities of the Main Crater and the Daang Kastila fissure, must remain strictly prohibited,” dagdag pa ng Phivolcs.
