Texas Department of Licensing and Registration (TDLR) slapped Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano with suspension after their controversial bout last November 15, 2024 in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas USA.

According to TDLR, this is for their safety stressing that all fighters must take a minimum of seven days off between bouts.

The TDLR regulates professional Boxing, Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai and amateur MMA.

Meanwhile, the 7th world division title champion Amanda Serrano cried foul against Taylor due to dirty schemes after the headbutts. She said that it is intentional and Taylor has done it to Chantelle Cameron .

“I had a big gash in my eye, and I just kept fighting. To me, it didn’t matter – blood, sweat and tears – I went in there, and I gave it my all.” Serrano exclaimed.

Katie on the otherhand explained that it is not a dirty tactic and just part of the game.

Serrano (47-3-1, 31 KOs) challenged Taylor for WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and IBO light-welterweight titles but resulted in a unanimous decision 95-94 in favor of Katie.

Amanda said that CompuBox statistics showed her punch count at a higher number with 324 from 734 thrown, while Katie connected with just 217 out of her 529.

As of this writing, the suspension is uncertain when it will end. Katie agreed for a trilogy if Serrano wished for it.
