Hiniling ni US President Donald Trump ng agarang impeachment trial niya sa Senado ng Amerika.
Ito ay kasunod ng hindi pagkakasundo ng mga Democrats at Republicans kung kailan ito sisimulan.
Nangangamba kasi ang mga Democrats na baka hindi magkaroon ng patas na pagdinig ang Senado dahil dominado ito ng Republicans na kaalyado ni Trump.
Ayon sa US President, dapat magkaroon na ng mabilisang impeachment trial sa Senado dahil hindi ito nabigyan ng due process sa House of Representatives.
Walang witness, wala aniyang abogado na mula sa kampo ni Trump ang ipinatawag sa impeachment trial sa kongreso.
“So after the Democrats gave me no Due Process in the House, no lawyers, no witnesses, no nothing, they now want to tell the Senate how to run their trial. Actually, they have zero proof of anything, they will never even show up. They want out. I want an immediate trial!,” ani Trump sa kanyang Twitter message. “The House Democrats were unable to get even a single vote from the Republicans on their Impeachment Hoax. The Republicans have never been so united! The Dem’s case is so bad that they don’t even want to go to trial!”
Nauna rito hindi pa nagkasundo ang mga Republicans at Democrats ng Senado kung paano ang magiging set-up ng impeachment trial kaya hindi pa ito isinusumite sa senado ni House speaker Nancy Pelosi ang articles of impeachment.
