Handa umano si US President Donald Trump para sa ikatlong summit sa pagitan nila ni North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Pahayag ito ni Trump matapos sabihin ni Kim na bukas daw itong makipagpulong sa kanyang American counterpart kung nasa “tamang pag-uugali” ang Washington.
Sa kanyang tweet, binigyang-diin ni Trump ang “excellent relationship” sa pagitan nila ni Kim.
“I agree with Kim Jong Un of North Korea that our personal relationship remains very good, perhaps the term excellent would be even more accurate, and that a third Summit would be good in that we fully understand where we each stand,” saad nito sa Twitter.
Nagbigay din ng pahiwatig ang American tungkol sa pagbawi sa ipinataw na mga sanction ng Washington sa Pyongyang.
“North Korea has tremendous potential for extraordinary growth, economic success and riches under the leadership of Chairman Kim,” ani Trump.
“I look forward to the day, which could be soon, when Nuclear Weapons and Sanctions can be removed, and then watching North Korea become one of the most successful nations of the World!”
Una nang sinabi ni Kim na maghihintay umano ito hanggang sa dulo ng taon para sa US na makagawa ng isang “matapang na pasya” at makapag-aalok ng isang kasunduang paborable sa magkabilang panig.
“We are willing to give another try if the US offers to have a third summit with the right attitude and mutually acceptable terms,” pahayag ni Kim.
Magugunitang dalawang beses nang nagtagpo ang dalawang kontrobersyal na lider sa Singapore at sa Vietnam. (AFP)
