Despite the last-minute call-up against the living legend Manny Pacquiao, Yordenis Ugas firmly believes that the Filipino icon doesn’t have the knockout power anymore and can withstand the punches he will unleash Sunday morning.
“I’m 100 per cent certain he cannot knock me out,” the 35-year old Cuban said via his translator.
“I’ve done all the work and preparation over the past six years. I’ve really been hitting my stride. I don’t think Manny Pacquiao can knock me out.”
On that note, Pacquiao is not also predicting whether there will be a knockout, but he is confident he will be the one who will walk out with the belt.
He previously said that it doesn’t matter who came in with it, but it’s about who is leaving with the belt.
The WBA super welterweight title that Ugas is currently holding was Pacquiao’s belt after defeating Keith Thurman before the boxing body ordered them to take it away after he didn’t see action for a long time to the pandemic and his political duties in the Philippines.
