Pinatawan ng three-game suspension si University of the Philippines (UP) head coach Bo Perasol makaraang magalit at gumawa ng eksena sa laro ng Fighting Maroons kontra sa Ateneo de Manila University nitong Linggo.
Ayon sa mga UAAP officials, ito raw ay dahil sa “continuous flagrant acts of aggression” na ginawa ni Perasol sa isang game official kahit na pinigilan na ito ng mga UP team members.
“After thorough review and careful deliberation made by the technical committee, we deemed it fit that the penalty of three-game suspension handed to coach Bo Perasol for his actions in the game between Ateneo de Manila University and the University of the Philippines last Sunday,” wika ni UAAP Basketball Commissioner Jensen Ilagan.
Magugunitang sa final game ng first round ng UAAP Season 82, naubos ang pasensya ni Perasol sa 6:23 marka ng third quarter at sinugod ang game official na si Jaime Rivano.
Sunud-sunod kasing pinatawan ng tatlong foul ang Fighting Maroon na si Bright Akhuetie na nasundan ulit ng isang technical foul na nagresulta ng three free throws para kay Thirdy Ravena.
Nasagad na si Perasol bunsod ng perceived non-call kay Ange Kouame, sa isang Jerson Prado lay-up attempt.
Dahil sa panunugod kay Rivano, sinupalpal ng dalawang technical fouls si Perasol at pinalayas sa game.
“I really have to apologize, first for my team, for losing it. It really doesn’t matter what happens on the court, but I have to think about my composure, because that is what I preach, and I was the one who lost it,” ani Perasol matapos ang laro.
“That was a lesson for us, and I don’t think that was who we are. But it was mostly because of what I did. As their leader, as their head, I need to be better,” dagdag nito.
“Again, as I said, it doesn’t take away from the fact that there will be missed calls, or bad calls, that it happens. But I cannot lose myself, especially in a game as big as that.”
Hindi ito ang unang beses na napaalis sa laro si Perasol at sinuspinde.
Napatawan ng one-game ban si Perasol noong kanilang first round game kontra sa Ateneo noong Season 81.
Noon namang Season 76 na kanyang unang season sa Ateneo de Manila University, nasuspinde rin si Perasol dahil sa pagkompronta sa isang fan.
