United States (US) Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin III arrived in the Philippines (PH) yesterday night, January 31.
He is scheduled to meet Philippine counterpart Defense Secretary Carlito Galvez and other senior leaders to tackle about Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) and the agreement between the two countries in 2014.
“Wheels down in the [PH flag] Philippines where I’ll meet with Secretary of National Defense Galvez & other senior leaders to build on our strong bilateral relationship, discuss a range of security initiatives, and advance our shared vision of a #freeandopenpacific,” chief Austin said in this tweet.
This is the second visit of chief Austin in the Philippines since his last visit on 2021.
