WASHINGTON – Magsasagawa ng hearing ang US House of Representatives Judiciary Committee sa Hunyo 10 na sesentro sa report ni Robert Mueller sa umano’y panghihimasok ng Russia sa 2016 presidential elections maging ang kaugnayan nito sa kampanya ni Donald Trump.
Didinggin ng komite ang testimonya mula sa mga dating US attorneys at legal experts, kasama si John Dean na kritiko ni Trump at dating counsel ni President Richard Nixon.
“We have learned so much even from the redacted version of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report,” pahayag ni Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler.
“These hearings will allow us to examine the findings laid out in Mueller’s report so that we can work to protect the rule of law and protect future elections through consideration of legislative and other remedies,” dagdag nito.
Sa 448-pahinang redacted report na inilabas noong Abril, naidokumento ni Mueller ang ilang mga okasyon na tinangkang pigilan ni Trump ang imbestigasyon, kasama na ang pagsibak nito kay dating FBI Director James Comey.
Ngunit wala namang naging pasya si Mueller kung nagawa ba ni Trump ang obstruction of justice.
Sinabi ng special counsel noong nakaraang linggo, kahit na ideklara nitong may ginawang krimen si Trump, hindi niya raw ito madidiin dahil sa polisiya ng Justice Department na nagbabawal sa paghabla sa nakaupong pangulo.
“… Our first hearing will focus on President Trump’s most overt acts of obstruction. In the coming weeks, other hearings will focus on other important aspects of the Mueller report,” dagdag ni Nadler. (Reuters)
