WASHINGTON – Maghahanap umano ng mga dokumento sa mahigit 60 katao at mga entites ang US House Judiciary Committee, kaugnay ng imbestigasyon ukol sa umano’y obstruction of justice at abuse of power ni President Donald Trump.
Ayon kay Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler, nais umano nilang makakuha ng mga dokumento sa Department of Justice; sa anak ng pangulo na si Donald Trump Jr.; kay Trump Organization chief financial officer Allen Weisselberg, at iba pa.
“We are going to initiate investigations into abuses of power, into corruption … and into obstruction of justice,” wika ni Nadler. “It’s our job to protect the rule of law.”
Bilang ebidensya sa umano’y obstruction, tinukoy ni Nadler ang pagsibak ni Trump kay dating FBI Director James Comey, na nangunguna noon sa pagsisiyasat sa pangingialam daw ng Russia noong 2016 US Elections.
Sinambit din nito ang mga sinasabing pagtatangka ni Trump na takutin ang mga saksi sa imbestigasyon.
Sa kasalukuyan, wala pang tugon ang White House, Justice Department at ang Trump Organization ukol sa isyu. (Reuters)
