Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco was appointed as the new leader of Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) House lawmakers.
Velasco expressed his gratitude after being appointed to lead the party at the House of Representatives.
He also sees it as an opportunity to strengthen their allies in Congress.
“This fresh step by the party leadership is a welcome development, as this will further strengthen unity and camaraderie among PDP-Laban members,” said Velasco.
“I am humbled and honored by the decision of the leadership of PDP-Laban to appoint yours truly as party head in the House of Representatives.”
The lawmaker hopes that there will be unity with 69 PDP-Laban members in the Lower House most especially on outlining bills that will benefit the public.
“With 69 members of PDP-Laban in the House, this new setup will ensure that we move in one direction in taking a party stand on vital issues, but more importantly in supporting the legislative agenda to improve the lives of the Filipino people.”
